BugHerd alternative

A cheaper BugHerd alternative for small teams

BugHerd is a mature visual feedback tool. Clients pin comments on a live page, and your team works through them on a task board. Its cheapest plan, Standard, costs $50 a month billed monthly, or $42 a month billed yearly, and includes 5 members. There is no free plan on its pricing page.

If you work alone or with one or two people, you pay for seats you do not use. FeedbackHive covers the same core loop, a widget on the site, pinned comments with screenshots, and a task board, with a free plan for one person and a Basic plan at $29 a month. Below is how the two compare, including the cases where BugHerd is the better pick.

What BugHerd offers

  • Feedback on live websites, Figma designs, PDFs and images
  • Screenshots, technical data and video feedback on every plan

  • Browser extension when you cannot install code on the site
  • MCP server (beta) for AI clients such as Claude, Cursor and ChatGPT

When BugHerd is the better choice

Five people or more need full access

Standard includes 5 members for $50 a month. FeedbackHive Basic allows 2 collaborators per project, so a larger team moves to Pro at $79 a month. At that size BugHerd can cost less.

Your team works in Jira, Trello or Slack

BugHerd connects to Trello, Slack and GitHub on Standard, and to Jira, Linear, Asana, ClickUp and Monday.com on Premium. FeedbackHive has none of these integrations.

You review designs and documents, not only live pages

BugHerd takes feedback on Figma files, PDFs and images as well as websites.

You cannot add a script to the site

BugHerd offers a browser extension for that case. FeedbackHive does not have one.

Clients should see your logo, not ours

BugHerd Premium includes custom branding. No FeedbackHive plan does.

What FeedbackHive does differently

You can start without paying

The Free plan gives one person 1 project, no collaborators, 100 feedback items a month. Enough to run a real client review before deciding.

A lower price for one to three people

Basic costs $29 a month, or $290 a year, for 5 projects, 2 collaborators per project, unlimited feedback items. That is 3 people per project counting you.

Clients can report by WhatsApp

On Pro, a WhatsApp agent turns client messages into tasks. Pro includes 250 automation actions a month; larger packs are paid add-ons.

Notes and tasks in one place

Each project holds notes next to its tasks, and the AI assistant turns notes and requests into tasks. Every plan has a monthly AI allowance.

Built to be scripted

A REST API, an MCP server and a command-line tool cover projects and tasks. BugHerd also has an API and an MCP server, so this is a matter of fit rather than a unique feature.

What FeedbackHive does not do

  • Fewer people on the entry plan: Basic allows 2 collaborators per project, BugHerd Standard includes 5 members.
  • No Jira, Trello, Linear, Asana, Monday.com or Slack integration. Tasks stay in FeedbackHive; the REST API and MCP server are the way to connect other tools.
  • No browser extension. Reviewers use the widget installed on the site, or a shareable feedback form.
  • No custom branding on any public plan: the widget and portal always show FeedbackHive.
  • No session replay.

Frequently asked questions

Is FeedbackHive cheaper than BugHerd?

For one to three people, yes. FeedbackHive is free for one person and $29 a month on Basic, while BugHerd starts at $50 a month, or $42 a month billed yearly. For five people who all need full access, BugHerd Standard can cost less than FeedbackHive Pro at $79 a month. Compare by the number of people, not the headline price.

Does FeedbackHive have a browser extension like BugHerd?

No. FeedbackHive works through a widget you add to the site with one script tag, or through a feedback form link you share with clients. If you cannot install anything on the site, BugHerd's extension is the better option.

Can FeedbackHive send tasks to Jira or Trello?

Not today. Tasks are managed inside FeedbackHive. Teams that need them elsewhere can use the REST API or the MCP server to move data, but there is no ready-made sync.

Do clients need an account to leave feedback?

Not if you allow anonymous submissions on the project's widget, or share the feedback form link. Private projects ask reviewers to sign in before they can see tasks.

Can I import my BugHerd projects?

There is no BugHerd importer. Most teams start new projects in FeedbackHive and finish open BugHerd tasks where they are. Open tasks can also be recreated through the REST API.
