Command line

FeedbackHive in your terminal with fbh

fbh is the FeedbackHive command-line interface. List your projects and tasks, create and update tasks, write notes and reply in comments without leaving the terminal, or script it with JSON output.

npm · GitHub · MIT license

Install

You need Node.js 18.17 or later. Install the feedbackhive-cli package globally:

npm install -g feedbackhive-cli
fbh --help

It installs two equivalent commands, fbh and feedbackhive.

fbh auth login

Pick the browser method and fbh opens FeedbackHive, where you approve a personal access token named FBH CLI that expires in 90 days. The CLI saves it to ~/.feedbackhive/config.json and uses it for every later command.

With a token you already have

Create a token in Settings, Personal Access Tokens, then:

fbh auth login --method token --token fhp_YOUR_TOKEN

For CI, skip the saved config and set FBH_TOKEN instead. FBH_URL points fbh at another FeedbackHive address.

Frequently asked questions

Is the fbh CLI open source?
Yes. It is published on npm as feedbackhive-cli under the MIT license, and its source is on GitHub at github.com/okzea/feedbackhive-cli.
Where does fbh store my credentials?
In ~/.feedbackhive/config.json, which holds your FeedbackHive URL and personal access token. Set FBH_CONFIG to use another file, and run fbh auth logout to delete it.
Can I use fbh in CI or scripts?
Yes. Set FBH_TOKEN to a personal access token, or pass --token, and add --json to get machine-readable output. Flags take precedence over environment variables, which take precedence over the saved config.
How is fbh related to the MCP server?
fbh sends its commands to the FeedbackHive MCP server with your personal access token, so it can do what the MCP tools do: work with projects, tasks, task groups, notes, note folders and comments.
